When you are allergic to something, it can be very difficult to find out exactly what you are allergic to. For example, if you get a headache every time you eat breakfast, you must be allergic to something you are continually eating or drinking, but what could it be? Only by seeing an allergist can you know for sure what, if anything, you are allergic to. Your allergist will test you with several substances to see if he or she can determine a specific allergy, which will be revealed by red or inflamed skin at the injection point. This is the best way to find out what you are allergic to and it's also a great way to find out if there are any allergy treatments that you will benefit from.
Allergy treatments, of course, vary, depending on what you are allergic to. Your allergist is likely familiar with all types of allergy treatments, both over the counter as well as prescription strength, that might just alleviate your symptoms completely, or at least lessen them so that you can go back to leading a normal life again.
If you don't have the money to see an allergist, use the internet and do a search of your symptoms, as well as any allergies you are already aware of. You never know, someone out there may know of an allergy treatment that you, or your allergist, haven't even thought of. Just use caution by not trying anything dangerous without first asking a professional.
