The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes in the World
By Joanne Fletcher
Who doesn't love a good chocolate chip recipe? There are few, and so if you are one of the many who love chocolate chip cookies, then you will absolutely want to read on because here you will find out the best chocolate chip cookie recipes in the world.
The Best Recipe
This chocolate chip cookie recipe is one that has been around forever and is truly the most basic, and what you need for this recipe is: 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature; ¾ cup granulated white sugar; ¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar; 2 large eggs; 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract; 3 cups all-purpose flour; 1 tsp baking soda; ¼ tsp salt; and 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips.
Then, in order to make this recipe you need to first preheat the oven to 350°F, with the rack set in the middle of the oven, and then line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set these aside. In the bowl of your electric mixer, cream the butter, and then add the white and brown sugars and beat until fluffy. Then beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure to beat well after each addition, and then add the vanilla and beat until it is incorporated properly.
In a separate bowl, you combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, and then add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat until properly incorporated, adding the chocolate chips about halfway through mixing, and remember that if you find the dough to be very soft, you can cover it and refrigerate until firm, or for about 30 minutes.
For large cookies you can use about a 2 tbsp ice cream scoop or with two spoons you can drop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets; bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges, then cool completely on wire rack.
Although this chocolate chip cookie recipe is the most basic and considered as being the best, there are many variations on it that are available today, and so you want to browse around and find the one that you like best; for instance, perhaps you want to throw some nuts into this recipe or add more chocolate – it is truly up to you to come to a happy medium so that your cookies are just the way that you want them to be.
